What the Tile Cost Calculator actually calculates
Waste-adjusted area is divided by box coverage and rounded up; whole boxes are priced before the extras amount is added. Box rounding can leave more spare coverage than the selected waste percentage. The tool does not calculate grout, installation labor, or tax independently.
The calculation path
Adjusted area is divided by pack coverage, rounded up, and multiplied by pack price.
Inputs that can change the answer
- Project area: Enter project area in m².
- Coverage per box: Coverage in one complete pack from the product specification.
- Price per box: Enter price per box in the selected currency; keep tax and included work consistent.
- Waste: Percentage applied at the stage shown in the method; enter 10 for ten percent.
- Adhesive and delivery: Enter adhesive and delivery as a number; use the definition in the calculation method.
- Currency: Label for all entered prices; no currency conversion is performed.
Checks that stay outside the formula
Confirm that every box uses the same production batch before installation.
A practical order for entering the data
- Enter the net tiled area and your chosen waste percentage.
- Use the box coverage and box price printed for the actual tile product.
- Enter adhesive and delivery as a combined cost, then review the rounded box count and total.

Engine check using the prefilled sample
Flooring example: project area = 20 m², coverage per box = 1.44 m², price per box = 32, waste = 10 %, adhesive and delivery = 75 and currency = USD ($). Replace the sample dimensions and pack information with the measured floor and the exact product format you intend to order.
